PRICE CHANGES There will be a new pricing structure for the NetEqualizer line in 2007. We will no longer make the NetEqualizer 500 generally available. But we’re adding more power than ever in the form of the NE3000 series. See the full price list here: The NE1000-2 thru NE1000-10, as you’ve come to know and rely on them, can handle up to 5000 users. Upgrades are easy. If you have the 1000 series NetEqualizer, you do not need to buy a new appliance to get a more powerful unit. It’s just a change in software. The prices for the upgrades are just the differences in list prices of the units. Introducing the new NetEqualizer 3000-250. This is our most powerful unit. It handles up to 8000 users and up to 250 Mbps. Wow. This is not upgradeable by software. To upgrade to this unit from the 1000 series means to purchase new and different hardware. Olympic Success Believe it or not we are indirectly supporting the US Olympic Team. USA Cycling, which is the governing body for cycling in the Olympics, became a customer this year. Their website and their network were getting full from streaming video (usually sporting events) and large downloads (coaching manuals, among other things). They host their own website and with 60,000 members they were getting a million page views per month. But the Olympics is all about quality and being prepared. They sought out NetEqualizer and found it to be gold. “We plugged it in, changed the IP address, and configured it for the two T1s and right away you could see it was adding bandwidth. We have seen it put in that penalty,” said Bill Griffin. “We’ve had no problems, no complaints.” Congratulations to Jennie Reed, and the rest of the Cycling Team that competed in November in Australia!
